Bringing Fantasy to Reality

Will we ever make fictional sports and toys into reality? Once the technology is advance and sufficient enough as depicted in such as cartoons and TV shows like this for example...

TOMY has released lines of toys related to the series based on spinning tops, and right now these are shounen-targeted audience. Technology are nothing but based on metal. but in the future do you think fictional shows can steer marketing into creating real tech sports and turn them into reality? So not only kids but anyone including adults can enjoy? I'd figure with brain implants and forms of "digital telepathy" we might also manipulate the movements by sheer will, just like driving a car by mind control.

and with augmented reality simulations we may even created duel disks and have actual "duals", not like the cheap plastic toys in Wal-Mart.

I suppose it is similar to how a teleporter device was originally used as a plot device to save production budget for onset and unaffordable props, and the Alcubierre drive is derivative of the warp drive from Star Trek. And these are already becoming real world manifestations taken from literature.

And then you have Michio Kaku attempting to figure out how to create an actual light saber...
